Mandatory COVID-19 Testing
Students are required to get tested for COVID-19

Ripon College President Zach Messitte sent out an email the evening of Monday, Oct.12 informing students that on Monday, Oct. 19, students on campus will be required to be tested for COVID-19.
In the email, Messittee said, “To continue to ensure the safety of our community, all Ripon College students who live on campus are required to take a COVID-19 test, free of charge, on Monday, October 19. Students should come to the Great Hall at any time during the day between 8AM-5PM for the test. Ripon College faculty and staff volunteers will be on hand to assist in the process.”
Prior to the email, students were only tested if they showed symptoms that fall under the COVID-19 symptoms list provided by the CDC. However, Messitte said, “More tests are now available, and the College has partnered with CoVigilance Labs to provide PCR testing kits that will be self-administered.”
Messitte added that student results of the COVID-19 tests will be available approximately 48 hours after being administered.
After this one-day testing event, the College administration “will also do surveillance testing of 10% of the residential student population in each of the first three weeks in November,” Messitte said.
