College aims to increase attendance

Following a decision by the Office of Advancement, Ripon College Chamber Music Concerts are now free. This is a change from previous years, during which attendees would have to pay for admission.
“By shifting the ticketing process to a ‘free of charge’ model, the Chamber Series can now reach a much larger audience,” said Kelly Nielson, director of annual giving in the Advancement Office.
“Donor-funded support through the Friends of the Arts program has a long-standing tradition here at Ripon College. Special events like the Chamber Series and other art initiatives continue to rely on these gifts,” Nielsen said.
The goal of making Chamber concerts free was to expand access to local community members and friends of the college.
“By removing ticketing, the Office of Advancement hopes to grow the Friends of the Arts donor base as Rodman faculty and students continue to provide premier arts programming for our local community,” Nielsen said.
Free concerts were made possible through donations to the school.
“Anyone can visit Rodman center resource room to read the list of current Friends of the Arts (FoA) donors. The office of advancement and college are much appreciative of everyone listed who continues to give back in honor of Ripon’s arts programming,” Nielsen said.
